Meet Our Team
Doug Markham, Chief Executive Officer
Doug is an accomplished senior-level business executive with over 25 years of broad healthcare, insurance, and government experience. Before launching Avenues Home Care, he held executive leadership positions with several industry-leading organizations. This extensive history has led to building talented organizations focused on a passion for serving others. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University. As CEO, Doug is charged with leading strategic growth initiatives and positioning the company as the premier provider of local, community-focused home care services.
Helen Trowsdale, RN, BSN, Chief Compliance Officer
Over her career, Helen has been a tireless advocate for seniors and their families. She brings a wide range of clinical expertise to her position, serving as both a Psychiatric and Registered Nurse over her career. She is credentialed as a National Aging Life Professional and founded AA Senior Care Services, one of the top home healthcare agencies in Texas. She brings more than 30 years of experience as a nurse. Helen has served older adults in 20 counties from San Antonio to Austin for over two decades. She is also an expert in long-term care insurance and assists in initiating and completing our clients’ paperwork. As Chief Compliance Officer, Helen leads education and training programs for Avenues’ staffers to ensure they provide the highest levels of care.
